REPOSITIONING OF HUGE DEWFRESH SILOS FOR BETTER OUTPUT
At Dewfresh Dairies’ dairy processing facility, we used a crane truck for tandem cranage as well as a 50-ton mobile crane to lift three 120,000-litre stainless steel silos from abnormal load transporters. We transitioned the silos from horizontal to vertical orientation and final position to better receive incoming raw milk deliveries. This resulted in the dairy doubling its daily milk capacity.
The ground conditions of the sawmills were sawdust chips and uncompacted, soft soil surfaces which further complicated the movement across the area of the 15t heavy lift crane trucks – getting each module on-site necessitated a systematic tandem lift by two crane trucks to move them. Changing out the different-sized skids on both boilers was also necessary to accommodate the height differential between the bases to match other fixed components.
